History

Ken Ware Engineers Ltd was established in 1983 by Ken Ware, his wife Joan and son John in converted farm buildings at Maythorne near Southwell.

The company originally carried out agricultural and general repairs for farmers and local customers.

The company soon outgrew these premises and in 1990 moved to nearby Hockerton, again occupying converted farm buildings.

The larger premises allowed the business to expand further and provide a wider range of services.

In 1998 the company expanded and moved again to its current location in Bilsthorpe.

The 24,000 sq/ft purpose built facility was designed to allow the company to remain as flexible and adaptable as possible to accommodate the wide variety of engineering challenges it is presented.

Ken Ware sadly passed away in 2006 at the age of 69 while still at work in the company he set up in 1983.

“Ken always placed great importance on the service and quality he provided to his customers, whether they were large companies or private individuals, we still hold these same values to this day and continue to fulfil our role as Village Blacksmith and repair shop and are always happy to meet new customers and help solve their problems”
