   The London Oasis Project

Designed by architect Laurie Chetwood, the Oasis is a demonstration of sustainability and renewable energy working with architecture to provide a tranquil oasis for London. The 12 metre high kinetic structure mimics the design of a growing flower: its photovoltaic 'petals' open and close in response to the sun and the moon utilising daylight to generate power. We were asked to produce the laser profiled steelwork support structure, Levelling support legs, Stainless Steel Water and Fuel Tanks and Hydrogen Fuel Cell Containment cover. Additionally we have supplied specialist lifting rigs and transportation rigs for moving the oasis around the UK and france whilst on tour.

   “Typhoon” Euro Fighter Access Platform

Hydraulic Access Platform designed specifically to work on the Typhoon Eurofighter aircraft. It has a 6m working height with extending deck area. Capable of working underneath a fully loaded aircraft and able to be deployed in all theatres of operation around the world. All electronic systems are shielded and inert to allow safe operation near live aircraft in service.

   Taylors Garden Centre

Stainless Steel Staircase Ken Ware’s were tasked with creating a linking walkway between two existing greenhouses. Richard Taylor of Reg Taylor’s Garden Centre wanted to achieve a modern contemporary design to this area. We designed and fitted a series of Geodesic support beams and columns along with a feature stainless steelstaircase. Along with the interior design work we also carried out all steelwork and cladding to the greenhouses to make the walkway.

   Retail Counter Area

Project: To remove and remodel an existing outdoor sales counter area at reg Taylor’s Garden Centre. The counters and awning structure utilises Stainless Steel , Oak and Glass to give a a light open aspect to the old style counters. The elaborate Laser profiled Swan Sign gave a focus to the new counter

London Duck Tours Amphibious Landing Craft

Ken Ware’s have been used by London Duck tours for the re-furbishment and rebuilding of their fleet of WWII DUKW amphibious landing craft. All of these craft saw service in the second world war and are currently used to ferry passengers round central London before splashing down into the Thames for a 30 minute amphibious trip to the houses of parliament. The vessels have to meet very strict guidelines laid down by both the Maritime and Coastguard Agency and also VOSA the vehicle inspection agency.

   Helix

Ken Ware were asked to produce a steel support column to carry a world record breaking “wind Sculpture” for exhibition in the 2009 “Sculpture in the Sanctuary” at Reg Taylor garden centre. The steel beam was designed to sway and turn slightly to replicate the natural movement of a branch which the helix would normally hang from.

   Railings To Burgage Manor

This project was to make and fit steel railings to the front of Lord Byron’s house in Southwell. The railings had to be in keeping with the style of manufacture and fitment of the Georgian period. 3d Drawings were submitted to the local planning authority prior to manufacture so they could visualise the finished product.
